About The Abolitionist Roundtable If there is one aspect of Joshua’s Trail that makes this weekly program a success, it is the Abolitionist Round Table that consists of Dr. Levon R. Yuille, Charles McCollough, and Milt Harris. Dr. Yuille’s wife Sally is to be credited with suggesting this unique collaboration that continues to inform and entertain their listeners. Abolition speaks to the advocacy of the eradication of slavery. There are individuals in America who are enslaved to a life of failure because they have allowed themselves to be deceived by the demagogy of some of our leaders who exploit their own people for personal gain. And then, there are others who manipulate the black experience to their own advantage so they can use the civil rights movement to promote their own agenda. The Spanish philosopher, George Santayana, said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." This quote is one of the great motivators behind the Abolitionist Round Table, the goal being to remind blacks and Americans in general about much of our forgotten history especially from the Christian perspective. Charles McCollough and Milt Harris represent over a hundred and twenty years of experience, good and bad, relative to living in Detroit, Michigan. Harris, an entrepreneur, and McCollough, who worked over thirty years in the auto industry, are two salt-of-the-earth type of men, who care about their city and country. Charles is a firebrand who speaks from his heart with great care and concern about what is happening in America, and Milt’s calm and analytical ways, often amusing, cause one to think about things deeply. These men make Joshua’s Trail like no other talk show in America. |
